Achilles, the star of Homer's epic Iliad, was a great warrior who led the Greeks in the Trojan War. According to legend, Achilles was impenetrable except for his heel, hence the phrase "Achilles heel." It is also the name of several saints. Despite its rich pedigree, Achilles appears to be simply too much name for parents in the U.S. and remains in name obscurity today.
