Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash
General Hospital stars Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash ended 2013 as newlyweds and have started 2014 as new parents. The couple welcomed daughter Harper Rose, the first child for both. Harper joins a pretty exclusive name club—the name was chosen by David and Victoria Beckham, rocker Dave Grohl, Neil Patrick Harris and others for their daughters.
Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo
Dancing with the Stars pros Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo are trading in dips and turns for diaper duty! The couple has welcomed their first child, a boy named Michael Alexander. With all of the wacky and wild celebrity baby names out there, it’s nice to see a return to the classics!
Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams plays a doctor on TV—and now he plays dad in real life! Williams and his wife Aryn Drake-Lee welcomed their first child together in early December, a daughter named Sadie. We hope she got her dad’s famous eyes!
Tennis star Lindsay Davenport was an ace on the court and now she’s an ace at baby names! Davenport, 37, and her husband Jonathan Leach have welcomed their fourth child, a girl named Haven Michelle. The newest addition joins stylishly-named siblings Jagger Jonathan, born 2007, Lauren Andrus, born 2009, and Kaya Emory, born 2012.
Congratulations to NCIS: Los Angeles star Daniela Ruah and her fiance David Olsen on the birth of their first child, a boy named River Isaac. The Portuguese American actress met her fiance, a former NAVY SEAL, on the set of the hit CBS show—he’s the stunt double and older brother of Ruah’s co-star Eric Christian Olsen, who also became first-time dad in 2013!
We can only imagine how delicious Gail Simmons’ baby food will be! The Top Chef judge and her husband Jeremy Abrams have welcomed their first child, a daughter named Dahlia Rae. The couple waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby, so it was a New Year’s surprise!
Just in time for the New Year! Football great Tiki Barber and his wife Traci welcomed their first child together on Dec. 27, a baby girl named Brooklyn. While the name was super trendy in 2013, the former running back might be paying homage to his career with the New York Giants. Brooklyn joins brothers Atiim Kiambu Junior “AJ”, born 2002, Chason, born 2004, and twin sisters, born 2010, children from Barber’s previous marriage.
Celebrity stylist/designer Rachel Zoe has an eye for trends…even when it comes to baby names! Zoe, 42, and her husband Rodger Berman welcomed their second son, a boy names Kaius Jagger. Kaius is definitely unusual, but Jagger is already a celeb favorite. The baby boy joins brother Skyler Morrison, born in 2011. The boys share music-inspired middle names—maybe Zoe is hoping for the next Mick Jagger and Jim Morrison!
At least his last name won’t be Rocknroll! Oscar-winner (and veteran mom!) Kate Winslet welcomed her third child—the first with new husband Ned Rocknroll—on Dec. 7. The baby, a son, had been given the snuggley, yet fierce name Bear. Bear joins siblings Mia, born in 2000, and Joe, born in 2003.
Talk about a proud papa! British R&B singer Jay Sean has been gushing about the new lady in his life, daughter Ayva Loveen Kaur, since he and wife Thara Natalie welcomed her on Dec. 16. Sean (born Kamaljeet Singh Jhooti) and Natalie must have been inspired by their shared Indian heritage when naming their daughter: Loveen is a Sikh name meaning “absorbed in adoration” and Kaur means “princess!”
Congratulations to The Mentalist star Rockmond Dunbar and his wife, actress Maya Dunbar, on the birth of their first child. The baby, a girl, has been named Berkeley Seon.
