Top Rated Car Seat
With our first daughter, my husband researched the best car seat to purchase. The Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant Car Seat was top rated, and still is five years later. It’s super easy to use and because of the 30 pound limit, we were able to use this for the entirety of my oldest daughter’s first year and then some since she’s tiny. We lucked out that the expiration date on our seat isn’t until our youngest daughter will be about 10 months old. We will have gotten our money’s worth with this seat, plus a whole lot of time feeling our daughters were safe and secure in the car.
Sophie The Giraffe
Some may say that $25 isn’t spending a lot of money, but for a baby toy, some may say it is. I’m here to say that Sophie the Giraffe is so very worth the price! Our oldest daughter, who is now four, still has and plays with her Sophie. This was one item we chose not to turn into a hand me down for her baby sister and we purchased another one. My oldest daughter’s Sophie has seen a resurgence as baby sister has been nomming on hers. It’s a way for both our girls to interact and bond over their matching giraffes.

Lily Jade Diaper Bag
I wasn’t a fan of the diaper bag I had for my oldest daughter. And currently, I have a mini diaper bag for my youngest for quick jaunts around town. But I’ll tell you what, I’ve been pining away for a Lily Jade diaper bag. It comes with an inner baby bag made for the mom who could use some organization. Plus, the bag is just pretty and very versatile. I’m hoping to purchase one soon and know that I can use this bag for years to come as my girls grow and even beyond as a personal bag for me.
When expecting moms ask me what is one item I couldn’t live without, I say a quality bouncer seat is worth every single cent! We took the play bar off when our girls were newborns and it helped us to put baby down while we showered or cooked dinner. As they got older, putting the bar with toys back on was perfect, especially through those early Wonder Week leaps when baby needed practice to help quell the fuss as they worked through all their mental leaps. A happy baby is a happy mommy!
With my oldest daughter, we had to pile up a few books for her to get the full effect of the Jumperoo when she was ready to use it. We got a lot of use out of this product, and our oldest had a blast exploring all the toys. The best part was that for a while, the Jumperoo lived in and around our bathroom. It made showering in the morning and getting ready for the work day that much easier as baby was totally occupied. This was perfect after she grew out of the bouncer seat. I can’t wait to bust this out for our youngest daughter in a bit.

Great Nursing Bra
Looking back at pictures from when I was pregnant and postpartum with my first daughter made me realize how unsupported I was. This time around I decided splurging on a quality nursing bra was a must, and I couldn’t be happier. Bravado is my favorite! I have three different models of their bras and I’m currently loving the Bliss as I’m gearing up to head back to work. I feel fully supported and looking good which is important to me in my postpartum body.
I didn’t purchase the Ergobaby Carrier until my oldest was close to a year old. I regretted waiting so long to splurge on this item. For my youngest, I busted out the Ergo very early on, utilizing the infant insert. I really love how secure and supported she feels and baby sister is a big fan of it too! It’s allowed lots of family walks with a happy and content baby who isn’t a fan of the car seat in the stroller. This is one splurge I highly recommend and I’m excited for all of the use I’ll get out of it!
Double Electric Breast Pump
I purchased my double electric breast pump with my first daughter. I never regretted this item at all! Any working mom, or mom who spends time away from baby during the week, will tell you how important it is to have a quality breast pump to optimize breastmilk production. And the best part of this splurge is that under the Affordable Care Act, you can get part or most of this splurge covered by your insurance.
BUMPED by Blanqi is actually the lesser costly version for Target; however, you can’t really get a way with owning one. I wore this everyday for support and it did need to get washed every once in a while so I bought two! If you’re a more active momma during pregnancy, purchasing the original Blanqi is the way to go as it offers way more support. I wore mine postpartum as well, and then switched over to the postpartum Blanqi, which I still wear. It’s great for postpartum support as well as layering as your body changes and clothes don’t fit you the same postpartum.
Having an awesome baby wrap is a must! They are perfect for your newborn who will often only sleep during the day when snuggled close in to momma! I prefer the Baby K’tan as I’m five feet tall and there is less fabric to deal with. Other momma’s swear by their Moby wraps. The best thing is that they grow with baby. I alternate between using this and using my ERGObaby Carrier. With a baby who doesn’t like the car seat for long, having a variety of carrier options is best to suit baby’s desires.
