Getting Ready
Before bathing your baby, be sure to have the following supplies on hand:
- Washcloth (terry gloves make a nice alternative for cleaning tiny spaces
- Cotton balls for cleaning around the eyes
- Mild soap
- Mild, no-tears shampoo (needed only once or twice per week)
- Rubbing alcohol for cleaning the umbilical cord area until the cord has fallen off (if recommended by your baby's physician)
- Towels
- Clean diaper
- Blanket (for warmth and cuddling after bath)
Make sure that you can reach everything you need to bathe your baby so that you don't have to leave your precious little one unattended, even if your baby is with an older sibling.
