Q&A: How can I keep bottles cold during hot weather when out and about?

When I'm on the go, how can I keep my baby bottles cold when the weather is really hot?

Great question. With summer here, we all face the dilemma of keeping bottles cool when out and about with Baby. There are some easy ways to do this.

Simply pack water in an insulated bag with a cold pack, readily available at most supermarkets. Formula should be kept separate and not mixed until ready to use. We're fans of Munchkin's powdered formula dispenser that keeps three pre-measured portions in an easy to carry container. This way you can prepare baby's bottle as needed, so it's fresh and cool.

If you're breastfeeding, nothing could be more convenient! But if you want to prep bottles ahead of time, once again, an insulated carrier works great. BabyWise makes a wonderful insulated bottle bag that holds up to two bottles. What makes this product so "cool" is that it's made with SuperCool gel that requires no extra ice packs keeping bottle temperature just right for hours.

Also, keep in mind—it's easy to find insulated bottle holders. They come included with just about every diaper bag on the market. And if you know you're going to be out on an all day adventure, sometimes a large cooler will do the trick.
