Before you bring Baby home from the hospital, be sure you have everything on hand if you've decided to bottle feed. Get started with our handy bottle feeding checklist.

Essentials

Bottles (5-7) Bottles come in a variety of sizes and shapes, including those with vents, disposable bottles, and bottles your baby can hold on his or her own. Your baby will ultimately decide which bottles you use by determining which nipple he or she prefers.
Nipples (5-7) You may need to experiment to find a nipple shape and brand that agrees best with your baby. There are a wealth of styles, materials, and flow speeds to choose from.
Formula If you're not using breast milk in your baby's bottle, formula is a must-have. When faced with the multitude of formulas at the store, it's hard to know which is best for your little one. Formulas come in three forms—ready-made, concentrated, and powdered—and a variety of compositions. Check with your baby's pediatrician as to what type of formula he or she recommends for your baby.

Recommended

Bottle and Nipple Brush Even if you are using a steamer or dishwasher to sanitize your baby's feeding supplies, you'll still need a brush to help get into those tight places.
Dishwasher Basket To prevent losing your bottle supplies in the washer, you'll need a basket to safely hold nipples, rings, and bottle caps.
Receiving Blankets (5-7) They're great for keeping Baby warm and catching spit up, but they can also be used as a lap cloth, or to clean up messes. Receiving blankets are a great addition to your baby's list of supplies.
Burp Cloths Protect your clothes and wipe spit up from Baby's chin with burp cloths. You may also want to use small, easy-on bibs if your infant is an especially messy feeder.
