Okay, so we couldn�t sneak you into any celebrities� nurseries, since that would be breaking the law and just plain rude. Instead we did the next best thing: We talked to their nursery designers, and picked up expert advice on the hottest hues, the coolest trends, and the baby room details most parents tend to forget.

Pick Your Linens First

"A lot of people jump the gun and paint the room first," says Wendy Bellissimo, who has designed nurseries for Brooke Shields, Kelly Ripa, Poppy Montgomery, and James Denton. "Then they're stuck with the wall color and trying to match the linens. The fabric drives the whole feel of the room." Besides, it's much easier to bring a swatch of fabric or a blanket to the paint store than to repaint after you've found the perfect crib linens.
