Taking Baby to Enjoy the Holidays at Disneyland Resort
We took the family to the Disneyland Resort to see it all decked-out for the holidays, and to enjoy both the new and classic Holiday attractions. All of us had a blast, even baby. And that had us feeling merry and bright!
This past weekend, my husband, 11-year-old son, 12-month-old daughter and I had the opportunity of spending two fabulous days enjoying the Holiday attractions and festivities at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim, California. I knew we were going to have a great time, Disneyland is one of my favorite places on earth. But, I also knew that taking a 1-year-old to Disneyland changes things up a bit—and by “changes things up a bit” I mean I can’t ride Space Mountain seven times in a row. Not only do you have to work around naptimes and feedings, but your attractions-agenda is dictated, in large part, by a 1-year-old’s attention span, stamina and certain rides’ height requirement. I have to admit that Stella was apprehensive, if not fearful, when we took her to Disneyland four months ago. We didn’t quite know what to expect of this trip, but being eager to see the new holiday attractions, I was prepared to enjoy myself, nonetheless. And because come on, it’s Disneyland!
As it turned out, Stella had a rip-roaringly fun time. There were several bouts of hand-clapping, squealing and giggling in that two days. And they weren’t just from Stella. The magic that seems to live permanently at Disneyland was escalated by the holiday flair and fun. We were immersed in the Holiday Spirit from the moment we arrived. Stella was mesmerized by the holiday shimmer that existed at every turn, and she was able to enjoy all the holiday attractions as well, as they were all baby-friendly. From the lights and festive music at “it’s a small world” Holiday to the “Jingle Jangle Jamboree” at Big Thunder Ranch, to the new “World of Color—Winter Dreams” show to all the clever holiday decor throughout the parks, we experienced holiday magic.
This Disney Holidays vacation was one we will never forget. It was so exciting to see Stella discover the magic of Disneyland. Up to that moment, I was convinced that only my cell phone and the TV remote could inspire such wonderment and awe in my one-year old. It was the perfect way to kick off the holidays, and we left beaming in holiday spirit.
