For someone who has their own reality show, is launching a fashion empire, running KLS.com, and keeping her 400,000 plus Twitter fans up to date on @OfficialKimora, Kimora Lee Simmons' parenting style is surprisingly mellow.

Married to Oscar-nominated Djimon Hounsou, the star of The Style Network's Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane and mom to Ming, Aoki, and Kenzo, took time out of her busy schedule to discuss the most challenging job she's ever faced.

What's your golden rule of parenting?

My golden rule of parenting is that there is no golden rule. Do the best you can ... you're not going to win an Oscar. Give yourself a break sometimes. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Describe the best moment of parenting so far.

I have three kids so every moment [is the best moment]. I have a boy and two girls and every moment with my kids is hectic and crazy … I feel like I'm tired all the time … not typical things you would say in an interview [laughs] but it's true.

Having kids is the best thing that has ever happened to me, but it's also the hardest job in my life. And I've done a lot of hard things: I've been on runways, I've developed collections, I've had to speak [in front of a lot of people], I've sat next to the president and been scared, "Am I going to say the right thing?" I've had my challenges in my life that are really hard, but being a mom? It's tough.

And the worst?

No. I'm really blessed and my kids are well behaved. We're a happy family and I have a very supportive husband. There are those moms who have the kids that throw a tantrum at the park and they look around hoping no one saw … that wouldn't happen [at my house] because I don't go for that.

Kids are kids. Parents aren't perfect. They don't have to be perfect. We're tired, we're multitasking, and we're doing everything we can to win that Oscar, but we might not get it [laughs] since they don't have Oscars for moms.

Best advice you ever got?

Take it easy, go with the flow, and let things happen. Kids will be kids. Keep an eye on them, but far enough to let them feel things out for themselves. I think that's pretty important.

What's the one thing you can't live without?

My kids. I guess that's not "one" thing [laughs], so my family.
