Life Imitates Art for Kristin Davis

It's a new baby for Kristen Davis! True Sex and the City fans will recall that Davis' character, Charlotte, at the end of the SATC movie, named her second child Rose. Davis went with the name Gemma Rose for new daughter. So is this case of life imitating art?

Co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, when asked by Access Hollywood about the name coincidence, says using the same name Rose don't surprise her. Like the character she played, Davis is known for her classic tastes, from clothes to baby names.

"It's a beautiful old-fashioned name, and Kristin is a really old-fashioned girl. She's a southern-raised kind of ... She has a real traditional streak, so I think it's a beautiful name," says Parker.

Single and the Baby

When asked about the adoption, Davis is thrilled. "This is something that I have wanted for a very long time," Davis says (via People.com).

Of life as a single parent, lifelong bachelorette Davis admits, "I feel like it's a really hard job." But she's also keeping her eyes on the bigger picture that she's finally a mom, the starring role she's always wanted. "Having this wish come true is more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed."
