When, at age 5, neighborhood kids teased Taye Diggs about the color of his skin, his mother taught him a lasting lesson about self-acceptance and self-esteem. Today, this star of Private Practice is doing the same for kids everywhere with a new children's book called Chocolate Me. Dad to son Walker, born in September 2009, the first-time author shares what the Baby Zone is like for him.

What's your golden rule of parenting?

My golden rule in parenting is "there are no rules." Every parent child relationship is different. I do believe that unconditional love and an open attitude to different perspectives help.

Describe the best moment of parenting so far.

Still, to this day, one of my most favorite moments in parenting is putting my child to bed. The combo bottle-bedtime-story, then falling asleep on my shoulder thing, is pretty great.

And the worst?

The worst thing about parenting is the worry.

Best advice you ever got?

The best advice I ever received was to "listen and respect" your child.

What's the one thing you can't live without?

The one thing I can't live without would have to be kisses from my son.

Finish this sentence: You know you're in the Baby Zone when...

... you look in the back seat of your "cool" car and you see a baby seat, three various dump trucks, a used sippy cup from last week, and half a box of graham crackers dumped on the floor.
