At 38 weeks, my doctor noticed my baby wasn't moving as much as he had been at previous appointments so she did a non-stress test to make sure my baby was OK. I was having a few small contractions and during one of the contractions the baby’s heart rate dropped just a little. Because of this, my doctor decided to do an ultrasound to check out the baby.
She had no sooner started the ultrasound when she announced that I would be going to labor and delivery and having a baby that day! It turned out that there was no fluid left around the baby. We decided to go ahead with a C-section since the doctors were afraid that my baby wouldn’t tolerate labor well and they needed to get him out.
My doctor’s appointment was at 9:30 that morning. At 2:33 PM, Ethan James was born! He was two weeks early, and weighed seven pounds, 10 ounces. He was perfectly healthy, and when he came out, he was screaming ... and peeing everywhere!
