Justin Ray's Story

I was 5 days overdue and I was going to be induced on June 6th if I didn't go into labor by then. I was expecting a 7 or 8 pound baby. Boy what a surprize! Labor started at 11:00 am on a saturday. I was having contractions all day but, nothing that bad. I waited unitl 2:30 am Sunday morning to go to the hospital. I was in so much pain. When we arrived, I was only dialiated to 1 cm. I thought it was bad then. HA! The doctor broke my water at 8:30 am and I was given demerol until I reached 4 cm. That was at 3:30 pm. I was given the epidural at 3:30 pm and I became myself agin. I couldn't feel any of the contractions. I would suggest the epidural to anyone!!! At 5:00 pm, I was 9 and a half cm. It was time to push soon after. I pushed for 1 hour and 12 minutes! My son was born at 6:12 pm. He was huge! 9lbs. 2oz. 22 inches long! I am a very happy Mommie! It's amazing how such a little person can change your life!
