I am having a sonogram at my next appointment (13 weeks). Will my doctor be able to tell if the baby is a boy or a girl by that time?

At this stage of development, male and female genitalia are developed enough to be distinguished from each other if seen outside the womb. But, unless your baby was in a great position, the sonogram may not yet show an accurate sex. At about 18 to 20 weeks your doctor should be able to use an ultrasound or sonogram to determine the sex of your baby.
