The Internet and Adoption: A Prospective Parent’s Primer

Caution Online

The Internet may make adoption seem seductively simple. The point-click-send process we're so used to with online stores masks some of the real schemes that are lurking online. Adoption chat rooms, forums, and websites hold information, but schemers may be trying to extort money from you at a time when you are most vulnerable.

Adoption agencies can help keep you and your information safe online. Reputable agencies should list only certain information about you online while password-protecting other information obtained in profiles.
