Q&A: Can I get ferility drugs at the drug store?

by Dr. Gerard M. DiLeo

Is there a way I can get fertility pills from a local drug store or do I have to see my OB/GYN for them? I'm only 21 but my husband and I have been trying for seven months (since the day we got married) and so far nothing. What do I do?

You need a GYN for this, as you need diagnostic investigation to see if your ovaries, cycles, ovulation, thyroid, prolactin, and a bunch of other things are normal. You also need to see if maybe it's your husband's sperm that is the problem. Since infertility is usually considered more than six months of trying without pregnancy, you meet the criterium. Don't waste your time on anything else.
