Q&A: Is it possible to get pregnant if you don't have a period?

by Dr. Gerard M. DiLeo

I haven't had a period for about 2 1/2 years. I didn't really worry about it because I wasn't having intercourse and I wasn't trying to get pregnant. Now, I'm trying to conceive and I'm wondering if I'll have problems.

If you're not menstruating, you're probably not ovulating. While it is possible to conceive even if you're not having your period, it's much less likely according to the American Pregnancy Association.

You need to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist to determine why you're not having monthly cycles and what you can do to increase your chances of getting pregnant.
