Q&A: Is a tilted cervix problematic for conception?

My doctor told me that I have a tilted cervix. Could this be a problem for me as I'm trying to conceive?

I don't think so. The vagina is called a "potential space," which means that it's not a space unless something occupies it. When not occupied, the vaginal walls, roof, and floor all meet together—and collapse, squishing any fluid-like substance (semen) toward the back, where your cervix—tilted or not—is. If your partner's sperm are motile, this whole arrangement is a setup for the sperm's successful migration toward conception.

If you've been trying to get pregnant for several months without success, I would look for other causes. A sperm analysis might be the next logical step, but you should talk to your healthcare provider about any concerns.
