Is it more likely for a woman with irregular periods to become pregnant than a woman with regular ones?
-
No, a woman with irregular periods is less likely to become pregnant. Women with irregular periods are less likely to be ovulatory. If they are ovulating, the timing of ovulation may be infrequent or irregular. This makes timing of intercourse very difficult.
In addition, while women with regular ovulation each month may have 12 to 13 opportunities to get pregnant each year, a woman with irregular periods, even if she is ovulating, will have less opportunities to conceive.
