Everyone's favorite tough-trainer-with-a-heart-of-gold, Jillian Michaels, has big plans! (And not the kind that involve getting a couch potato to run an extra five minutes on the treadmill.)

The Scoop

Jillian Michaels is in the beginning stages of adoption a baby from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in a candid interview with Redbook, the Biggest Loser's former drill sergeant (she has since gone on to join the show The Doctors) talks about how her own infertility led her to choose an alternate route to motherhood.

"Turns out I had PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome]. But at a young age, I didn't know if I wanted kids, so I didn't really care. Then I got older, and I watched friends go through IVF, with years of hormones and devastation and disappointment, and I remember thinking, 'God wants something different for me.'"

Michaels started on the adoption process two years ago. She's patient, but she is also beginning to wish that motherhood would just hurry up and happen already. "I've watched friends congratulate me on [starting] the process, get pregnant themselves, have a baby, and then their baby's crawling," Michaels tells Redbook. "People are lapping me. My best friend just told me she's pregnant, and of course I'm ecstatic, but I'm also like, Uhhh! [gestures stabbing herself]. Like, I want my kid to be playing with your kids! It's just a nightmare."

Plan B

Because the goal is a child in her life, no matter how it happens, Michaels is also keeping her options open. "When I was finally ready to go for it, I thought, this is going to be so easy... I had nooo idea. I mean, you're just waiting … If it's not done by this November, I'm going to take my shot with foster care."

We know you're going to be one fit and fabulous mom, Ms. Michaels!
