Q&A: Can you ovulate without having a period?

Is it possible to ovulate even if I haven't had a period since I went off the Depo-Provera® shot?

It is possible.

If you ovulated however, you will always get a period two weeks later unless:

  • you became pregnant
  • there is an abnormality with your uterus such as scarring on the inside
It is far more likely that you haven't ovulated as this is a common occurrence in women after stopping Depo-Provera®. This is especially true in women who are obese.
