I went off of the birth control pill in May 2001. Since then I have had a period in September and one in October. However since then I have not had one. I am not pregnant. I have been to the doctor but they just say that I have to try to concieve for one year before they will do anything. It is extremely hard to try when I am not having a menstral cycle. Should I be concerned? Should I just keep on waiting? or Should I go see a different doctor?

Every doctor has his or her own protocol for working up infertility. In my practice, I draw the line at 6 months, but that's just me. And my 6 months are after regular monthly cycles have been established, which it looks like in your case is still pending. But if you're in a hurry, and you don't mind spending gobs of money, ask your doctor to suggest an infertility specialist just for an opinion. Don't switch doctors over this, just get an opinion. And get one from an infertility specialist if you must. Let your doctor know of your impatience. It could be there's a good reason for the year condition.
