It's not the method of fertilization that is important for you it's how the already fertilized eggs (embryos) are placed into the uterus.

First, have your doctor attempt a practice or "trial" transfer with a variety of different catheter types to see if he can get it into your uterus. If there is difficulty, try with both an empty and full bladder.

If you are still unsuccessful, try a few different doctors. Some doctors are better at doing an embryo transfer than others. You can also have the doctor try to stretch open (dilate) the cervix before attempting to insert the catheter.

If all else fails, you can consider a more invasive method call TET which stands for tubal embryo transfer. With TET, you will undergo a surgical procedure under anesthesia in which the doctor will make small incisions in your abdomen and place the embryos in the fallopian tube. This "back door" approach can also get the embryos to the uterus but is definitely more invasive and expensive for you.
