Q&A: Can PCOS come and go?
I was diagnosed with pcos, and was wondering if it can come and go. The reason I ask is that before my first son was born I was told that my ovaries were enlarged and would need the help of clomid. I conceived on my own, and my Ob was surprised that I was told this because my ovaries looked normal. Now I have pcos. What happened?
Yes, PCOS can vary in intensity, since it involves wavering amounts of testosterone and insulin resistance. I would need to know the exact parameters used to make your diagnosis before, though. Specifically, a testosterone level and a glucose/insulin ratio blood test.
