I am in my first cycle of Clomid. This month and last month I experienced mid-cycle spotting. I read that this can mean ovulation or anovulation. Is there a way to tell the difference between ovulation and anovulation? And is spotting during Clomid OK?

Just prior to ovulation, the estrogen level produced by the developing follicle will drop. In some women this can result in a brief period of spotting. This is not thought to be harmful.
An easy way to tell the difference between ovulation and anovulation is simply to monitor for ovulation using an ovulation predictor test from the store or by performing blood tests and ultrasounds in the doctor's office.
