A group of physical symptoms resulting from an injury to the young brain, characterized by uncontrolled movements and spasticity of the muscles. The degree of impairment varies. Associated conditions can include mental retardation, hearing and vision problems and seizures. The original injury can occur prenatally, during delivery or in the first few years of life.
