WAHMConception occurs when a sperm from a male ejaculate successfully penetrates an egg. Through this successful union, fertilization occurs and a viable zygote (produced by the male sperm and female ovum) is produced. This usually occurs in the fallopian tubes. The zygote then travels to the uterus where it implants in the uterine lining (called implantation). Thus begins a pregnancy.
