WAHMConvulsion that occurs in some otherwise normal children when their body temperature rises quickly. Children usually outgrow these types of seizures. Children show no neurological damage, but have a slightly increased risk of developing epilepsy in the future, although this is still not universally agreed upon. Any seizure that lasts five minutes or is associated with respiratory difficulty requires immediate emergency help (Dial 911).
