In the US this usually refers to Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and in (Canada this refers to the Canadian Council on Health Facilities Accreditation (CCHFA)). Through the JCAHO web site (www.jcaho.org). you can access summary information on thousands of surveyed hospitals and other organizations. Your hospital should be accredited. This is not to be confused with Board Certification which relates to physicians.
