Dehydration

Loss of water from the body. Babies can become dehydrated quickly if they have vomiting, diarrhea or fever and do not adequately replace the fluid lost. Dehydration is a serious problem for infants and toddlers with decreased fluid intake. Signs of dehydration are 1) infrequent urination or dark yellow urine 2) scant saliva and tears 3) dry mouth and skin 4) lethargy 5) sunken eyes and fontanelle (soft spot on the top of the head) 6) thirst
