Blockage of the lumen (internal canal) of the bowel. The blockage occurs when a film of membranous tissue grows into the center of the intestine. Webs are most commonly seen in the duodenum, which is the place where the small bowel and the stomach meet. This would be called a duodenal web. A web may also be seen in the larynx (voice box).
