Hearing screen

Test to examine the hearing of a newborn infant. It is now a national recommendation that all newborn infants have a hearing screening test to be sure that the infant is able to hear. If the infant does not pass the hearing screening test, it does not mean that the infant is deaf. It does mean that additional testing needs to be done. Congenital hearing loss occurs in about 1 out of 1000 infants
