Separation anxiety

Anxiety prompted by separation of the infant from his familiar caretakers. Separation anxiety usually begins at around 9 months of age but can start as early as 6 months or as late as 1 year. For some infants this passes quickly and for others it lasts 6 months or more. This is a normal phase of the child's development.
