Surviving the Trip
We've all seen them: frazzled parents gritting their teeth and attempting to control a rambunctious bunch of kids at the grocery store. For the uninitiated (read: non-parents), these moms and dads may simply appear to be poor disciplinarians raising unruly, spoiled children. But we parents know better! Even the best-behaved children have bad days. Temper tantrums, incessant begging for candy, standing in the cart, and running down the aisles are all behaviors kids may try during a trip to the supermarket, whether in attempts to drive their parents crazy or simply out of boredom or tiredness.
The good news is that by using creativity and forethought, parents can improve the shopping experience for everyone and turn a necessary chore into something tolerable (possibly even enjoyable!) for families.
