For Expecting Moms and Dads
Personalized Heart Messages
This creative little gift is especially designed for expectant parents. Remember those silly messages found on candy hearts you used to eat in grade school? For fun, try personalizing your own messages on construction paper hearts for your loved one. "Back Massage," "Belly Rub," "Midnight Run for Snacks," or "Extra Smiles" are just a few ideas for fun heart sayings. The paper hearts might not be as good to eat as the candy, but they are guaranteed to bring grins to the recipient.
Don't forget to treat the kids too! Messages for kids can read, "Extra Bedtime Story," "Park Time," or "Pizza Night."
A Little Scoop Of Love
Here is a fun candy craft that an expectant mom can make for dad—or vice versa! Wash and dry laundry detergent scoops (found in boxes of detergent) or one-cup measuring cups. Fill the scoops with your mate's favorite candies: Conversation Hearts, Hershey's Kisses or Hugs, etc. Cover the scoops with cellophane wrap and tie each with a festive ribbon bow. Make heart-shaped tags from colorful paper and print a message like these:
- For Conversation Hearts—"A scoop full of love for you from ______"
- For Hershey's Kisses—"A scoop full of kisses for you from ______"
- For Hershey's Hugs—"A scoop full of hugs for you from________"
Love around the World
Make or sign a Valentine's Day card for your sweetheart in an amorous way. Write the words, "I love you" in a foreign language (or many languages). Here are some examples:
- French—Je t'aime or Je t'adore
- Italian—Ti voglio bene
- Spanish—Te amo
- Hawaiian—Aloha I'a Au De
- Chinese—Moi oiy neya
