I (Finally!) Found Non-Frumpy Nursing-Wear
I spent my fourth trimester wearing my regular t-shirts and baring my post-baby belly whenever Otto nursed. I just couldn’t bring myself to spend money on frumpy, lame nursing clothes I knew I wouldn’t even want to wear. Then I found—and fell in love with—Boob Design. Their clothes are stylish, earth-friendly (plenty of organic cotton items to choose from) and super comfy. Check out this mirror-image t-shirt they sell…And click to the next slide to see why it’s awesome.

Here’s that Boob Designs t-shirt on me. It gives me a little mojo-boosting pep talk every time I pass a mirror. Love!

I'm Breaking a Sweat
I’m not quite ready to hit the gym on the regular sans baby, so I’ve decided Otto can be my personal trainer instead. I got us a really nice running stroller as an incentive—a BOB Stroller Strides Fitness Stroller—and it was totally worth it. It maneuvers easily, has awesome shock absorption (so I can run on bumpy paths at the park without waking my dozing little dude) and folds up in a snap for easy storage.

My Hands Are Getting the Royal Treatment
What do you give a girl who washes her hands six thousand times a day (and, er, bites her nails)? Nipple cream helps with the dryness. (No, really!) But these beautiful, delicate gold rings—which my husband gave me for my birthday last week—are making me feel like a queen. Love really is in the details… and so is mama mojo. Now I just need a manicure…
I'm Smelling Yummy (Well, Most of the Time)
I might wake up smelling like a weird mix of licorice and spit-up (taking milk-boosting fenugreek capsules and co-sleeping with a baby will do that), but after a shower, and a spritz or two of Pour le Monde‘s amazing, mama-safe fragrances, I smell fantastic! Most fragrances contain synthetic musks, which are toxic, and can make their way into breast tissue and milk, but Pour le Monde’s are 100 percent natural and safe for pregnant and nursing mommies.

I'm Getting a One-Up on the Witching Hour
In our house, right around 5:30 PM, my baby gets hungry and my big kid gets crazed. It’s not an ideal time for dinner prep, and if things veer off track, we don’t ever really find our way back; it could be way late before everyone’s settled back down. My husband’s a champ about helping to make our meals, but I’ve been planning ahead and taking advantage of my slow cooker, too. It’s satisfying to throw ingredients together in the morning and have a home-cooked meal appear, as if by magic, by dinner time.

I'm Still Saying Yes to Help
My friends are still bringing coffee, Kaspar’s school is still cutting me slack (I’ve gotten him there on time exactly once since Otto was born) and I’m still seeking out ways to simplify my busy days. I’ve been hiring professional house cleaners for a few months now, and it pretty much feels like Christmas each time they come. Even though I’m starting to get the hang of this two-kiddo thing, I still appreciate—and say yes to—all of the help I can get! (Bonus Tip: If you’re in Austin, hire Hummingbird EcoCleaners and tell them I sent you. They’re the best!)
