10 Annoying People You'll Meet at the Park
We love the park for its escapist qualities. This is where the troubles of work or a stressful day at home is forgotten in favor of childhood fun. That is, unless these people get involved!
Self-Proclaimed Parent of All
This person obviously hasn’t had enough children of their own. There’s always that one parent who seems to be adopting every child in the sandbox, and offering manners lessons for anyone in earshot.
He must think those swings are awfully comfortable, because this guy’s not budging from that swing set for at least an hour. Why is it that all parks have a swing to park-goer ratio of about one to one thousand?
Aren’t we supposed to be teaching kids not to litter? We’re always surprised to see families eating at the picnic tables and leaving their trash behind.
Impromptu Soccer Team
It never fails. You get your picnic laid out in the shade when a large family nearby picks up a soccer game in your midst. It almost seems like they’ve made your toddler the goal post and awarded extra points for hitting you in the head.
The Blissfully-Oblivious Parent
Kids driving you up the wall at home? Come to the park, where you can forget they exist altogether!
Got an important business call? Perhaps a webinar you need to attend? It seems many a parent thinks that the park is the best place to get work done. It does beat plopping your kid in front of the TV for hours on end.
Ah, sounds of the park. Birds chirping, kids laughing, parents hollering for their little ones to “stop touching that!” Chill out, mom. A little dirt won’t hurt.
The Sticky One
Maybe it’s the fact that they’re drinking out of a paper bag. Or that everything in their midst seems to smell like grape. Something about this park lurker makes us feel the need to shower pronto.
We like to foster undergrad learning as much as the next person, but we’ve noticed a widespread trend in parks as date destinations. Our kids really don’t need to see what’s going on behind those bushes over there!
This one seems to have saved up all their anger for the park…someone needs to remind this aggressive parent that tag IS just a game, after all.
