The Scoop

When it comes to Beyonce's pregnancy, we've heard all about the mama-in-waiting's food cravings (bananas in ketchup anyone?), the 2,200 square foot nursery, and the blinged out baby bathtub shower gift. But what about Mr. Sasha Fierce, aka Jay-Z? Turns out the rapper-mogul has a lot on his mind, especially when he stops to reflect on how his own father left when he was only a small child.

"It makes me a little paranoid because no matter what, I don't think any person, or any male, goes into a relationship thinking that they're going to leave or wouldn't be there," he tells People magazine at GQ's Men of the Year party at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. "I think the circumstances a lot of times dictates things, right?"

But Jay Z is certain about one thing: history won't repeat itself. "I'm just a different kind of guy," he says. "I'm a highly principled person."

Solid Gold Diapers?

Jay-Z may be dealing with some heavy duty memories as he contemplates becoming a parent, but don't worry, that's not stopping him from enjoying the fun and excitement of having a new baby, due sometime in February. Jay-Z already states that he and Beyonce will lavish their child with luxuries.

So should we expect to see gold and diamond-encrusted diapers anytime soon?

"No," he tells People, laughing. "Leather!"
