Scheduling in some "me" time
Meditation once was considered New Age hocus pocus. In reality, however, meditation is simply the act of clearing your mind with controlled breathing. Think of it as time-out for grownups.
Meditation has been proven to reduce stress and tension. It can increase energy and sense of well being. A clear mind is a happy mind. Regular meditation can also improve your focus. When you stop thinking about everything you have to do and all the things you’re worried about, your quieted mind is more likely to see solutions in the midst of your problems.
Meditation can boost confidence. This can be done through guided meditation on CD or “self talk.” Self talk involves positive statements in the present tense. For example: “My family loves me. I’m a great mom.” Or “I look thinner and I feel great!”
Studies have shown that meditation can help you lose weight. The old saying “You are what you eat” applies to your mind too. You are what you think! So think yourself into a healthy, happy way of life.
