Keep Fit Forever

by Deborah Bohn and Amy Cotta

So, you've recently lost weight and are feeling strong, healthy, and fit? Congratulations! (Trust us, we know it ain't always easy!)

But guess what? The real journey is just beginning. Now it's time to commit to a lifetime of healthy eating and physical fitness. This is a critical time, a time to decide if you're going to keep up with your new healthy life or go back to your old ways.

Never Stop Moving

Now more than ever it's important to keep your focus. Don't let that little voice in your head say, "I can sleep in today. I don't need to work out." Oh, yes you do! Unless you liked your old body, you must steer clear of your old ways. If you stop exercising, you will lose the strength and stamina that you've gained. If you stop eating healthily, you will regain weight and body fat. Stay the course. Do it to inspire your children. Do it for yourself.

Be a Positive Person

To create a lasting change, you have to begin every day with good intentions, prioritize those intentions, and act upon them. It is so easy to slip into inactivity and negativity. So make a conscious effort to remain positive and continue your forward momentum. Even if you have to write "Take five minutes to be thankful and positive" on your daily to-do list, go ahead and put it on paper.
