Pregnant and Frumpy? Time to Get Hit On!
Hilarious YouTube filmmaker and married mom demonstrates how to lure guys while sporting a bump.
You’re pregnant. You’re well into your third trimester. You don’t just feel like a house — you feel like a waddling McMansion.
So…it’s a great time to dangle yourself out there in the meat market to see what would-be suitor will bite, right?
Ask Elle Walker that question and the answer is an enthusiastic “Yes!”
No, Elle is not delusional. Actually, you might say she’s brilliant.
The married California mom is the star of “How to Get Hit On While Pregnant,” a new, tongue-in-cheek YouTube video demonstrating how uncomfortably pregnant women can attract a pick-up line or two…and feel less frumpy in the process. The video was filmed when Elle was 38 weeks pregnant with her second child.
“It’s really just doing something to have fun and feel good about yourself at the end of the pregnancy,” Elle told BabyZone.
Spoiler alert: The key is getting (partially) dressed up, getting behind the wheel and getting flirty with fellow motorists on busy streets. Watch the video here for more on Elle’s hilarious strategy.
Elle, the founder of the popular parody and sketch video YouTube channel, WhatsUpElle, created the “How to Get Hit On” video for What’s Up MOMS, where she joins a couple of other moms in making fun and fast-paced videos that offer information on everything from cooking to parenting products.
“How to Get Hit On,” Elle said, was inspired by real-life experiences. Both she and her fellow What’s Up MOMS contributor Connie Kin — the video’s “hot, pregnant” passenger — recently encountered men who tried to woo them while their cars were stopped at red lights.
“Someone was like, ‘Roll down your window’ and he asked me what I was doing that night,” Elle said of her roadway Romeo. “I seriously don’t know how he didn’t hear the baby music or (my daughter) Presley screaming in the back.”
Elle waved the guy off, of course…but she admits she liked the attention.
“As embarrassing as it is, it feels great because the only glances my husband is giving me are sympathetic,” she said. (Note to husbands: If you’re not turned on by your pregnant wife, at least fake it!)
Not in the mood for taking your bump on a wild ride around town? Elle recommends having a date night with your husband or an outing with your girlfriends. Don’t worry about fitting into your favorite dress for the occasion — you probably won’t — and focus on doing your hair, nails and make-up instead.
“It’s the last thing on your mind when trying to get ready for baby,” she said, “but it gives you a really nice break.”
If, on the other hand, you’re pregnant and eager for an ego-boosting road trip, just be sure not to drive too far away from a restroom. Sure, you’ve got game…but, as Elle shows in her video, when you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go.
