Q&A: Why would my cycle be weird since giving birth?

My cycles have been really weird since I had my daughter in December. I got my first period when she was 4 months old, then nothing happened for 12 weeks, then 10, etc. It's been almost seven weeks since my last period and there's no sign of it coming. The last two cycles were six weeks long. I've taken three tests and all were negative. Any ideas?

You may possibly be experiencing polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). There are a number of other factors, such as weight, drugs, thyroid problems, etc., that can also affect your cycles. You need to see a doctor to evaluate this. Sorry, but this question needs to be dealt with at your physician's.
