Moms' Best-Loved Baby Gear Items

Our son was diagnosed with acid reflux at about 3 weeks age. We were allowed to borrow a friend's "Nap Nanny". We though it was kind of gimmicky until we actually used it. It is the single best item to help keep his head elevated during sleep time. It has drastically reduced his discomfort and spitting up during the night-time hours. Also has been great to decrease the mucous that can accompany acid reflux. He is on medication for the reflux as well but we did not see real improvement until we started using the nap nanny.
I tried several "wedges" prior to this and they were completely worthless.
Nap nannies are expensive ($130) but well worth the cost when it comes to your baby's well-being. We even purchased one for him to use when he goes to daycare.
Wish I ad known about this product when my daughter was an infant.
I LOVE my Hotslings carrier sling. It's less bulky than other slings and comes in different sizes instead of having an adjustment ring, so it's easier to use. I used it all day at the apple orchard/pumpkin patch and didn't get tired carrying around my 14 lb. baby. He snuggles right in and goes to sleep, and since he was a July baby it's better because there isn't as much hot fabric as there is with a Moby wrap. The only thing to be aware of is that their sizes run small, so if you are borderline go for the bigger size.
I also couldn't live without my Chicco travel system. It's so nice that his car seat clicks into the stroller easily (as well as the car base) and that the stroller will be useful for years to come. I went through the store and tried out EVERY travel system on display, and this one was the one that was easiest for me to fold up one handed by myself, as well as the lightest (I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so lightweight and easy are very important).
My husband and I loved the Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe wrap. We think it was the key to helping our son sleep through the night. He would always seemed to kick a blanket off when it was used the swaddle him. But, with the SwaddleMe wrap, he always seems snug and comfy. He was sleeping nearly 8 hours a night (waking only once to eat) before he was 2 months old! It was a God send!
I love aden and anais swaddling blankets. My son was born at almost 10 lbs so swaddling him with regular sized blankets was near impossible. They come in really cute designs and can be used as nursing covers, play yards sheets and many more things. The miracle blanket was also very helpful in swaddling my big guy in the early months although he grew out of it pretty quickly!
I am in love with the Maclaren Easy Traveler. All I do it pop the infant carrier in the slots and off we go. So easy to open and close. Has been a life saver because my 4 month old weighs 18lbs. and is so hard to carry him with out this awesome invention. It does not take up very much room either so you wont be blocking the path at the stores!
