I pierced my daughter's ears when she was 7 months old. She is beautiful with earrings and already was cute! She cried hard for about 1 minute, and has never had a problem with them since (she's 9 months old). She gets compliments all the time.

Everybody is different. I thank a little girl with earrings is adorable but I would never make that choice for my daughter. She is eight months old now and already very independent. My mother always let me make decidions about my body (within reason) when I was a child. I want to do the same for my kid. I am sure this is the right choice for me an my daughter. I appriciated having my individuality and I know she will too.

I don' think there is anything wrong with piercing your child's ears. I just pierced my daughter's ears today and she cried for a second but she got over it real quick. I believe you should do it while their young and won't notice it. Their pain tolerance is a little higher so they can handle it. It hurts us more than it hurts the child.

I was not allowed to have my ears pierced when I was young so when I was 10 I pierced them MYSELF in my bathroom. Now I have very crooked holes in my ears. I am piercing my daughters ears 2 weeks after her vaccinations. She will be about 3 months old. How many girls do you meet who as adults are upset that their parents pierced their ears without consent?

In my country (Peru) we pierce our ears right before leaving the hospital. They actually do it there so you know they will take all the safety measures. i pierced my isabella's ears when she was three days old, right before going home!!! we never had any problems and she looks absolutely gorgeous!!!
This is a cultural thing but by no means are we putting babies in danger... i think it just depends on what one feels comfortable with. Since i had mine done when i was a baby i felt sure that there was no problem.
