I was wondering if it is possible to get pregnant while on birth control pills. I don't take my pill at the same time every day, and my husband and I don't use a backup. I was supposed to start my period two days ago, and have felt queasy for the last two days. My breasts feel tender, and my bladder feels full several times per hour. I took a pregnancy test last week and it was negative. Should I take another one?

Birth control pills are very effective, but do not provide 100 percent protection. I suggest you take another pregnancy test. If that one is negative and you still have not gotten your period, please contact your OB and schedule a blood test for pregnancy. I would not start another pack of birth control pills until you are 100 percent sure that you're not pregnant.
