Q&A: I am 19 weeks pregnant and have not felt any movement yet.

by Dr. Gerard M. DiLeo

I am 19 weeks pregnant and I have not felt any movement yet. People keep telling me that I should be able to feel little flutters at least but I can''t. I had an Ultra Sound at 17 weeks and could see her moving then, is she ok could something have happened? I am a first time mom so I do not know what to expect. I am just wondering if she is alright?

She's probably just fine. First timers often won't feel movement or flutters even with a baby jumping all over the place on ultrasound. The chances of something having happened to your baby after having gotten this far are EXTREMELY small, so don't panic. And by this time next month you should be feeling her just fine.
