Two weeks ago, my son needed to take a chest x-ray. I was asking to hold him while taking an x-ray. I was lying on the table and I was standing beside table holding him. Today I discovered that I am 6 weeks pregnant. I am so worried that the x-ray affected my unborn baby. Thank you so much for your time. Regards,

Were you wearing a lead apron? If so, there are no worries. If not, you probably didn't get enough Xray exposure to your pregnancy for two reasons: 1. Those Xray doses probably don't add up to the 5-10 Rad limit that is a concern, and 2. Unless the Xrays are pointed directly at your uterus, the power of them falls off exponentially with the distance away from the where the Xrays are actually pointing.
That being said, simply call the Radiology department and ask them to compute the Rads that were used for these pictures. They can do that. Then report it to your doctor, in case something comes up that requires Xrays in you later on. If they won't do that, ask your doctor to ask them, even if they think this is silly. (Labeling anxiety as silliness isn't good for business!)
