Q&A: Is ibuprofen safe during pregnancy?

I am in my first weeks of pregnancy and am wondering if it is safe to take ibuprofen products, such as Advil?

Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the pain reliever most doctors considers safe to take throughout your pregnancy. It is advisable that you refrain from taking ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) when expecting. Be sure to discuss any questions or concerns you might have about pain medication with your OB.
