Q&A: Is the rabies shot safe when pregnant?

My sister is one month pregnant. Last night she was bit by a rat. Is it safe for her to receive the rabies injection?

She MUST get the injections, as rabies is almost 100% fatal (which wouldn't help her baby any). It is considered safe in pregnancy. The alternative is risking her life! Do it, do it, do it!
