Complications in Delivery

Fetal DistressWhen fetus is in jeopardy because of maternal complications but usually because of lack of oxygen. When distress is confirmed immediate delivery is usually preformed. Change in fetal movement, heartbeat changes.
Postpartum HemorrhageExcessive bleeding after birth that is difficult to stem. Several causes include a large baby or traumatic delivery.Abnormal bleeding after delivery -- bleeding that saturates more than one pad per hour.
Shoulder DystociaDystocia means labor that does not progress, in shoulder dystocia, it is because the baby's shoulder become stuck in the birth canal.Delivery Stalls after the head emerges and before the shoulders are out.
Uterine InversionWhen the placenta doesn't detach completely after delivery and when it emerges, it pulls the top (fundus) of the uterus with it. Excessive bleeding and sometimes shock in the mother
Uterine RuptureWhen the uterus ruptures during pregnancy or labor.Severe abdominal pain, fainting, hyperventilation, rapid heartbeat, restlessness and agitation.
Vaginal & Cervical LacerationsTears in the vagina or cervixExcessive bleeding.
